On Tuesday, reports indicated that actress Amanda Bynes was hospitalized for a mental health evaluation after officials said that the former child star started a fire in the driveway of a home in Southern California.
Officials responded to a 911 call Monday night and found the 27-year-old entertainer standing next to the flames. It was later determined that she met the criteria for a mental health hold and as a result, Bynes was taken into custody.
California law states that she can be held for up to 72 hours of observation. Bynes who faces no charges for allegedly setting the blaze is the former star of of the Nickelodeon network. With many perceiving the actress to currently have “issues” and “public mental meltdowns”, Bynes has used her Twitter page to fire off on several entertainers, singers and even President and Mrs. Obama.
Furthermore, the former “All That” star has had several run-ins with the law in California. Back in December, she was able to resolve a misdemeanor hit-and-run case after entering into a civil settlement with other drivers.
Last fall, she was charged with driving on a suspended license after it was temporarily taken away from her following two hit-and-run cases. In those cases, she was accused of leaving the scene without providing proper information.
Bynes also went on to star in the show “What I Like About You”.
